this vibrant musical scene.)

First: Retirement has arrived, and with it...
a house remodeling, a new version of Studio D, totally new routines, membership with a great band
(The Moxie Boys) and...the traditional and wonderful Canadian reward of
a Florida vacation. My wife Pat and I are enjoying 3 weeks in Pine Island,
off the coast near Fort Myers. Hello to any of my new Florida musical friends I've met.

I've had a ball playing at an open mic here at Woody's,
joined by Mat, a super sax player, and hosted by the congenial and talented
Kip Lawrence.

Kip and Steve

Also, congrats to my Moxie Boy partner
Larry Mclean, staying "up north" in the Clearwater area, who is headling a Sat night show
at the Legion in Redington Beach.

Boy, does this beat shoveling endless snow in Red Lake-style cold.

Thanks for visiting this old-fashioned style web-site,
and stay tuned for some new original music, I promise....

May 2013
I've been lucky recently to enjoy lots of musical playing opportumities
in lots of different situations and with uniformly excellent musicians,
and the "I am going to make Music is going to make me" spark has been relit.
This site should be a big part of that, but I am having a
really busy, very-enjoyably-challenging, really busy time as
an Ontario Public Elementary School music teacher
who loves making music all day with JK to Gr. 8 students.
"The light at the end of the tunnel" promises more time
towards self-indulgent pursuits like this!

I'm retiring-"graduating" as of this June, 2013.
It feels like a new beginning, as in...

"Now, where was I....?"
